The Benefits of Lemon Water For Your Gut

Lemon water is such a simple drink with some incredible health benefits. There are variations of lemon water that when mixed adds new flavor twists, as well as, different and/or improved healing properties and health benefits. H2O is already necessary and beneficial to our entire body system and lemons are packed full of benefits. Some of the other additions are strawberry-lemon, cucumber - lemon, lemon - mint, and anything else that tastes good and provides some sort of sustenance.

  • Naturally Energizing: Lemon water can make a nice natural energy drink. It isn’t going to be the wicked rush and crash found in the store bought energy drinks. However, it will provide the body with good clean energy that is beneficial for the body as a whole. 
  • Reduces Inflammation: Lemons and citrus fruits naturally alkalize our body. The alkalinity increase helps reduce inflammation.

    In order for lemon water to aid digestion it has to be warm or hot but never cold. Our internal temperatures are closer to warm water than they are cool or cold water. Warm water helps the gut comfortably while cold water is more of an unpleasant shock.

If you prefer lemon water squeeze the lemons out into the water making sure some of the fruit gets in and then add the rind to the water in order to get the benefits found in the peel.
